Rep. Ro Khanna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 17th district since 2017, has recently shared several statements on social media regarding healthcare policy and his ongoing political commitments. Khanna, who succeeded Mike Honda in Congress, is also noted for his academic background with degrees from the University of Chicago and Yale University.

On December 5, 2024, Rep. Khanna expressed criticism towards Blue Cross regarding their policy on anesthesia coverage. He stated, "It's appalling that Blue Cross tried to get out of covering anesthesia after an arbitrary time limit." He further emphasized the need for systemic change by advocating for Medicare for All to prevent private insurance companies from financially burdening individuals.

The following day, December 6, Khanna announced his recent election as vice chair of the US Progressives and his continued role on the executive board for a fifth term. In his tweet, he declared: "I’m honored to be elected as vice chair of @USProgressives and to a 5th term on the executive board and to continue to fight for an anti-corruption, anti-war, and populist economic agenda."

Later that same day, Khanna reminded constituents about an upcoming virtual town hall scheduled for December 10 at 6 pm PT. He invited participation from the public by tweeting: "Reminder: I'm hosting a virtual town hall on Tuesday, December 10th at 6 pm PT." He encouraged attendees to RSVP and submit questions through a provided link.
