Khanna highlighted the issue of stagnant federal minimum wage in a tweet: "The federal minimum wage has been stagnant for 15 years at $7.25/hour, while cost of living has increased 20%. Increasing the wage to $15 will give 28 million workers a raise, stimulate our economy, and reduce the impact of growing healthcare and housing expenses for hard…".
On December 3, 2024, he expressed concern over taxpayer subsidies allocated to large oil companies: "It’s outrageous that billions in taxpayer subsidies are being given to Big Oil companies every year while they fleece American consumers and fuel a global climate crisis. Let’s repeal them.".
Later that day, Khanna called for bipartisan efforts to address defense spending inefficiencies by collaborating with prominent figures like Elon Musk: "Cutting wasteful funding and saving taxpayer money is not a partisan issue. We need to work with @elonmusk and @DOGE to breakup the five primes’ oligopoly and hold defense contractors accountable".
