Washington, D.C. -- On June 5 Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32), senior member of the House Committee on Financial Services, and Congressman Stephen Lynch (MA-8) sent a letter to the United States Treasury Department and the I.R.S. to urge the prompt release of proposed regulations that would bring the cryptocurrency industry into full tax compliance.
"For many years, the cryptocurrency industry has been a major source of tax evasion and a significant part of the nation's tax gap," said Congressman Sherman.
