Ro Khanna, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district, has issued several statements and announcements through his social media account. Khanna, who replaced Mike Honda in 2017, touched on various issues ranging from local engagements to national policy debates in his online communications.
On April 7, 2025, Khanna reminded constituents of an upcoming event saying, “Reminder: I’m hosting a town hall on Friday, April 11th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm PT at the Orchard School District (Event Center), 921 Fox Lane, San José, CA 9513. Join to hear insights from my latest work in Congress!” He also encouraged RSVPs through a provided link.
On April 8, 2025, he addressed the topic of Social Security, highlighting its importance for a significant portion of seniors. Khanna stated, "Social Security is the sole income for 40% of seniors. Exaggerated claims of overpayments only threaten the institution’s legitimacy AND payments for millions. The changes we should be making to Social Security are to expand it and eliminate the income cap."
Regarding international trade matters, Khanna, on April 9, 2025, revealed his intentions to critique policies on the House floor. He tweeted, “I’m heading to the floor right now to call out Trump’s harmful blanket tariffs. Watch it live."
