Rep. Ro Khanna, serving California’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted recent layoffs in California's manufacturing sector through a series of tweets on April 5, 2025. The tweets, which relay information on significant workforce reductions, spotlight the challenges faced by companies amid evolving market conditions and rising inflation costs.

In one tweet posted on April 5, 2025, Rep. Khanna reported that vehicle manufacturer Genesis Supreme RV, Inc. laid off 18 employees from its facility in Perris, California.

Another tweet, also from April 5, addressed layoffs in San Jose, California. Electronics manufacturer InvenSense Inc. reportedly let go 55 employees due to changes in market conditions affecting the tech industry.

Furthermore, on April 5, Rep. Khanna shared that Sensata Technologies, an electrical equipment manufacturer, closed its operations in Carpinteria, California. This closure resulted in 57 job losses and was attributed to efforts in offsetting inflationary costs.
