Rep. Ro Khanna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 17th district since 2017, shared his thoughts on various issues through social media posts on March 13 and 14, 2025. The tweets addressed concerns over education funding cuts, Medicaid budget reductions, and extended well-wishes for Holi celebrations.

On March 13, Khanna highlighted the importance of the Department of Education in providing essential services such as financial aid loans and special education programs to working-class families across the country. He emphasized that proposed budget reductions are "not about 'reducing' the budget" but rather constitute "an attack on students and a threat to public education." "Working-class families across the country need the Department of Education for financial aid loans, special education programs, K-12 support, work-study programs, and more."

Later that day, Khanna criticized Republican budget plans which propose significant funding cuts to Medicaid. According to him, over three-quarters of Americans hold favorable views towards Medicaid; yet there are plans to reduce its funding by at least $880 billion in favor of tax breaks for billionaires. Khanna stressed that "funding Medicaid has to be a bipartisan priority," urging protection for hospitals from closure due to these potential cuts. "More than 75% of Americans have a favorable view of Medicaid..."

On March 14, Khanna took a moment to wish everyone in his district and around the world a happy Holi celebration. He expressed hope that this year's Festival of Colors would bring joy and renewal. "Wishing everyone in CA-17 and celebrating around the world a happy Holi!"
