Rep. Ro Khanna, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 17th district since 2017, has recently shared his perspectives on defense spending and childcare costs through a series of tweets. Khanna, who succeeded Mike Honda in Congress, was born in Philadelphia and currently resides in Fremont. He holds a BA from the University of Chicago and a JD from Yale University.

On March 12, 2025, Rep. Khanna addressed issues related to defense spending by criticizing the five prime defense contractors. He stated that reducing waste at the Pentagon should focus on these contractors rather than "firing tens of thousands of hard-working veterans and military spouses."
