Rep. Ro Khanna, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district, has been vocal on various issues through his social media platform. On February 15 and 16, 2025, he addressed topics ranging from job losses due to factory closures to political campaign financing.

On February 15, Rep. Khanna highlighted the closure of a Silgan Plastics factory in Hazelwood, Missouri. "In Hazelwood, Missouri, 33 workers lost their jobs when Silgan Plastics, a plastics packaging manufacturer, closed its factory to consolidate operations to other facilities — many of which are located in Canada, Mexico, Europe, South America, and more."

The following day on February 16, Rep. Khanna expressed concern over the influence of money in politics during the recent election cycles. He stated that "Big Oil spent $445 million on the 2024 congressional and presidential election cycles. That's absurd." He called for legislative changes: "Congress must unravel the alliance between wealth and political power. It’s time to ban PAC and lobbyist spending and overturn Citizens United."

Later that day on February 16, Rep. Khanna acknowledged fellow congressman RepDeluzio for his efforts in addressing American workers' needs: "Thank you @RepDeluzio for helping bring attention to the needs of hard-working Americans and leading Democrats in the right direction for our country."
