Rep. Ro Khanna, serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district since 2017, has recently shared his views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. Born in Philadelphia and currently residing in Fremont, Khanna is known for his advocacy on healthcare and domestic manufacturing.

On February 7, 2025, Rep. Khanna highlighted the recent layoffs at Acutus Medical, Inc., a medical manufacturing plant in Carlsbad, California. Following its acquisition by Medtronic for $50 million, the company laid off 57 workers and announced plans to reduce its workforce by 70%. He emphasized the importance of investing in domestic biotech manufacturing: "Acutus Medical, Inc., a medical manufacturing plant in Carlsbad, California, laid off 57 workers after Medtronic bought the company for $50 million and announced plans to lay off 70% of its workforce."

On February 8, 2025, he paid tribute to Black history and the significant contributions of Black Americans to various fields such as science, art, literature, technology, athletics, and music. He urged recognition for those who have fought for equal dignity: "Black history and the countless contributions of Black Americans have shaped our nation’s culture and success."

Later that day on February 8th, Rep. Khanna addressed healthcare priorities based on public opinion polls showing that better healthcare is a top concern for 52% of Americans. He advocated for passing Medicare for All to simplify healthcare access by removing insurance complexities: "52% of Americans ranked better healthcare as a top priority. It’s our job to deliver."
