On January 28, 2025, Rep. Khanna highlighted the significant funds raised for presidential inaugurations, amounting to nearly $260 million for the past two events alone. He expressed concern over the influence of wealth in politics, stating that "The ultra-wealthy shouldn’t have more of a voice than ordinary Americans." He called for a ban on PAC and lobbyist spending and urged for overturning Citizens United to address this issue.

Later that day, he addressed consumer debt concerns by pointing out that "The number of Americans just making minimum credit card payments is the highest it’s been since 2012." Rep. Khanna criticized credit card companies for their high-interest rates and advocated for Congress to cap these rates at 10% to aid consumers struggling with debt.

In another post on January 28, Rep. Khanna commented on federal funding policies under the Trump administration. He warned that "The Trump administration’s freeze on federal funding grants threatens the financial security of hundreds of thousands of families who rely on programs like Head Start and Medicaid." He emphasized the need to protect healthcare and invest in working and middle-class families' success.
