Washington, D.C. -- On April 26 marks 75 years of Israeli Independence. Today follows the day of remembrance for Israel’s fallen soldiers and terror victims, and the day of remembrance for victims of the Shoah. One reminds us of the cost of having Israel, the other demonstrates the cost of not having Israel.
As 2023 also marks 90 years since Hitler established the first concentration camp in his efforts to eradicate world Jewry, we celebrate the miracle that the 2,000 year old dream of Jewish self-determination has been achieved and that #Israel is the vibrant country that it is today.
We also celebrate the eternal bond that unites the United States and Israel – a vital partnership that I have worked to strengthen for over 26 years in Congress. Happy 75!
