PALO ALTO, C.A. – U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-16) released the following statement after the Supreme Court granted the Department of Justice’s request for a stay in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA.

“The Supreme Court’s decision to grant a stay protects women’s access to mifepristone, a safe medication used in over half of all abortions nationwide. This ruling maintains the authority of the FDA and, for now, rejects the misguided judicial whims that have caused chaos and confusion around the country. This is a relief, but we’re not out of the woods. We must continue to fight to put an end to the dangerous and extremist abortion bans that are putting women's lives at risk across the country.”
