Of the 55,227 people living in Gilroy city in 2020, 51.5 percent (28,439) were women and 48.5 percent (26,788) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South SFV Today.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 1,091. In the 65 and over age range, there were 3,710 females and 2,780 males.
