On Friday, March 13, the Humboldt State Lumberjacks, featuring former Los Altos High School standout Varun Madabhushi, were defeated 83-64 by the Cal State East Bay Pioneers in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.
The 7:30 p.m. contest at Pioneer Gymnasium marked the teams’ first meeting in this year’s tournament.
Santa Clara softball wrapped up its season on May 9 with an emotional Senior Day game against Saint Mary’s. All eight seniors started as the team marked new records despite falling to the Gaels. Highlights included special recognition ceremonies and key performances from both teams.
