Stanford University sophomore Valerie Glozman has been chosen to represent Team USA at the Master’U BNP Paribas Championship, which will take place in Reims, France from December 5 to 7. The event, now in its 18th year, is known as “The World Event of University Tennis” and features teams from eight countries: Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Switzerland, and the United States. All participating athletes are active university competitors.

Glozman joins a roster that includes Samir Banerjee (Stanford), Reese Brantmeier (North Carolina), Aidan Kim (Ohio State), Nicolas Kotzen (Columbia), and Luciana Perry (Ohio State). The United States team is aiming to continue its success after winning five consecutive titles at this championship.

Matches in the tournament format include two women’s singles matches, two men’s singles matches, one women’s doubles match, one men’s doubles match, and one mixed doubles match. The first country to secure four wins out of seven advances further in the competition.

Last season as a freshman, Glozman was recognized as an ITA All-American in singles. She was also named ACC Freshman of the Year and earned both first-team All-ACC Singles and second team All-ACC Doubles honors. Earlier this year she won the USTA American Collegiate Wild Card Playoff in singles competition and qualified for her Grand Slam Main Draw debut at the US Open Women’s Singles event.

This fall saw Glozman win the ITA All-American Championship singles title. She also entered the NCAA Division I Women’s Singles Championship as the top-seeded player.
