The Stanford Board of Trustees has announced the election of three new members to its ranks. Roelof F. Botha, Stacy S. Brown-Philpot, and Peter Salovey have been selected to join the board, bringing with them a wealth of experience from various fields.
Botha, currently managing partner at Sequoia Capital, will begin his five-year term on December 1. He is known for his previous role as CFO of PayPal during its IPO and acquisition by eBay. His involvement with Stanford includes serving in several volunteer roles for the Graduate School of Business (GSB).
Brown-Philpot, founder and managing partner of Cherryrock Capital, will start her term on February 1. She previously served as CEO and COO of TaskRabbit and held leadership positions at Google. Her contributions to Stanford include various volunteer roles for the GSB.
Salovey is a professor of psychology and former president of Yale University. He will also commence his term on December 1. Salovey's academic career has focused on emotional intelligence, among other areas.
Board Chair Jerry Yang expressed enthusiasm about their appointments: “We’re delighted to welcome Roelof, Stacy, and Peter to the board.”
