Stanford University will host the British rock band Coldplay at Stanford Stadium next May as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour. This event is a collaboration between Stanford Live and Stanford Athletics, aiming to enhance the university community and the San Francisco Bay Area with diverse arts and cultural activities.

Stanford Live has a long history of presenting performing arts on campus, having hosted over 2,000 groups since 1969. These events often engage with significant contemporary issues and ideas. Megan Swezey Fogarty, senior associate vice president for community engagement, emphasized that "Stanford is seeking to build community by hosting events for the local area." She also noted that the concert aligns with Coldplay's commitment to reducing carbon emissions during their tour.

Deborah Cullinan, vice president for the arts, remarked on the significance of this event: "Bringing this band to campus at this moment and inviting our community to be a part of this epic gathering around music is a milestone for the university." She highlighted the collaboration between Stanford Live and Stanford Athletics as an important partnership.

Presale tickets are available until October 10, with general sales starting on October 11. Further details can be found on Coldplay's website.
