Week ending June 27: 22 patents granted in Sunnyvale

There were 22 patents granted in Sunnyvale in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is 15 less than the week before. Patents included a targeted per-line operations for remote scope promotion.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to Yahoo Holdings, Inc. who filed in October 5, 2015.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
