Patent office approves 2 patents for Stanford innovators in week ending June 27

Patent 3

There were two patents granted in Stanford in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is unchanged from the week before. Patents included a compositions comprising g protein-coupled receptors maintained in a conformationally selective manner by a modulator.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University who filed in May 1, 2018.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
