Sein Myoung, who has twice earned All-Big West first-team honors at Cal State Fullerton, is transferring to Stanford University and will have two years of eligibility remaining. The announcement was made by Frankie Brennan, the Peter and Helen Bing Director of Women’s Tennis.
“We’re fortunate to be able to welcome a student-athlete of Sein’s quality to our program,” Brennan said. “She is coming off a fantastic sophomore season where she was nearly automatic on the top court over the final two months. We are excited she made the decision that Stanford is the best place for her to finish out her college career and are confident she’ll only get better during her time here on The Farm.”
Last season, Myoung played exclusively in the No. 1 singles position for Cal State Fullerton, posting a 15-4 record in dual matches and going undefeated (9-0) in conference play. After losing her first three matches—all away—she won 15 of her next 16 contests and ended the year with a 12-match winning streak. In doubles competition, Myoung compiled a combined 10-7 record in duals, including a 9-5 mark at the No. 1 spot.
As a freshman in 2024, Myoung competed across the top three courts and finished with a 12-9 record in dual matches. She also went 13-9 in doubles play and earned second-team All-Big West honors in doubles.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Myoung was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete twice while at Fullerton. She becomes Stanford’s second undergraduate transfer this calendar year; Caroline Driscoll joined the team in January and contributed to Stanford’s NCAA Super Regional appearance with a 15-6 singles record, including going 10-2 on lower courts and finishing with an ITA singles ranking of 94.
