Stanford University’s women’s swimming and diving team achieved a decisive victory over San Jose State on Saturday, winning all 15 events in the Senior Day meet. The final score was 226-67 in favor of Stanford.
After the competition, Stanford recognized its ten graduating seniors: Lucy Bell, Jamie Brennan, Sophie Duncan, Charlotte Hook, Torri Huske, Gigi Johnson, Natalie Mannion, Kirsti McEnroe, Emilie Moore, and Kayla Wilson.
Gigi Johnson and Lucy Bell each secured two individual event wins. Johnson posted a season-best time of 54.42 seconds in the 100 IM and later won the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.51 seconds. Bell claimed victories in both butterfly events, recording times of 51.48 seconds in the 100 fly and 1:54.03 in the 200 fly.
Torri Huske finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.85 during her last home meet. Emilie Moore concluded her collegiate career at Avery Aquatic Center by winning the 1-meter dive with a score of 306.75.
Other notable performances included Emily Thompson’s win in the 50 freestyle (22.70) and her first-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.09). Addison Sauickie took first place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:46.47.
Freshman athletes also contributed to Stanford’s sweep. Alana Berlin led the field in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.60 seconds, while Ella Jablonski won the 200 IM (1:58.76). Ellie Cole completed Stanford’s dominance in diving by scoring a winning mark of 305.55 on the 3-meter board.
Stanford also won both relay events at the meet. The team of Johnson, Jablonski, Annam Olasewere, and Levenia Sim captured first place in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.62; Thompson, McEnroe, Huske, and Mannion won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:29.36.
The Cardinal will conclude their regular season next weekend with an away meet against California on Saturday, January 31 at noon Pacific Time.
