Stanford University’s women’s soccer team, ranked third nationally, is set to begin its first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with a match against Clemson on Thursday night. This marks Stanford’s debut in ACC play following their conference realignment.
The Cardinal enter the ACC after being ranked fifth in the preseason poll among a competitive field of teams. Several freshmen are expected to contribute this season as Stanford looks to maintain its position among the top programs in collegiate soccer.
Defender Evans was recently named the first ACC Defender of the Week for 2025, highlighting individual achievements as well as team success. The squad continues under the leadership of head coach Paul Ratcliffe, who has guided Stanford through numerous successful seasons.
In addition to on-field performance, Stanford is promoting upcoming home matches and events aimed at engaging fans throughout the season. The program also celebrated former player Kelley O’Hara’s induction into a hall of fame, underscoring its tradition of producing high-level talent and Olympians.
Stanford will look to build on recent victories and continue spreading playing time across its roster as it adapts to new conference competition. The team remains focused on strong starts both at home and away as it pursues further accomplishments under Coach Ratcliffe’s direction.
