Stanford University’s women’s rowing team achieved a sweep at the San Diego Fall Classic, securing the top positions in both the Women’s Open 8+ and 4+ races on Mission Bay. This event was the Cardinal’s only fall competition for the 2025-26 season.

The team entered four eights boats—named “Card,” “Elle Logan,” “SWC,” and “Attacker”—and five fours boats—“Thunderdome,” “IB,” “Juice,” “Nerd,” and “Academic Weapon.” In the Women’s Open 8+ race, Stanford boats finished first through fourth. The boat “SWC” claimed first place, followed by “Attacker,” “Card,” and “Elle Logan.” The Cardinal outperformed crews from several universities including UCLA, University of San Diego, UC San Diego, San Diego State, and UC Santa Barbara.

In the Women’s Open 4+, Stanford again dominated with its five entries taking all top five spots. “Academic Weapon” finished first, trailed by “Thunderdome,” “Juice,” “Nerd,” and “IB.”

Stanford is scheduled to return to competition in spring 2026.

Lineups for each boat were provided for both eights and fours categories. For example, Reese Dibiase coxed the “Card” eight with Julia Doss in seat eight and Heather Schmidt in seat one. Similarly detailed lineups were listed for each entry across both events.
