Stanford women’s basketball secured its third victory in a week, defeating Cal Poly 90-55 at home on Sunday. The Cardinal again showcased balanced scoring, with five players reaching double figures.

Nunu Agara led Stanford with 16 points and seven rebounds. Chloe Clardy contributed 14 points off the bench, while Lara Somfai recorded her second straight double-double, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Courtney Ogden added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Hailee Swain also scored 12.

Stanford has had at least five players score in double digits in each of its first three games this season. Against Santa Clara earlier in the week, six Cardinal players achieved that mark.

A strong first half allowed Stanford to build a commanding lead. Swain and Agara both scored 12 points before halftime, with Swain shooting 6-of-7 from the field. A late second-quarter run extended Stanford’s advantage to 48-17 by halftime; Agara contributed four points during this stretch, Clardy five, and Somfai four.

Swain tallied eight of her points in the opening quarter, including several fastbreak baskets.

The Cardinal shot just over 50 percent from the floor (33-of-65) and made 85 percent of their free throws (17-of-20). Over the first three games of the season, Stanford has converted on more than 81 percent of its free throw attempts.

Talana Lepolo, who previously led all scorers against Santa Clara with 16 points, had six points on Sunday but dished out a game-high four assists without committing a turnover. So far this season, Lepolo has totaled 12 assists to just three turnovers. Somfai posted a career-high three steals, while Ogden registered a career-best two blocks.

Somfai became the first Stanford freshman since Ashten Prechtel in the 2019-20 season to record back-to-back double-doubles. Prechtel had consecutive strong performances against UCLA that year.

Vanessa McManus led Cal Poly with a game-high 29 points.

Stanford will play its next game on the road against Washington State on Friday, November 14 at 4 p.m., broadcast on ESPN+.
