Stanford University’s women’s lacrosse team announced on Apr. 8 that it will travel to North Carolina for its final regular season road trip, beginning with a match against No. 2 ranked North Carolina on Friday, April 10. The game is scheduled to take place at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill, with the opening draw set for 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
The matchup follows Stanford’s recent victory over Louisville during Senior Day at Cagan Stadium, where the Cardinal secured a decisive 22-5 win. In that game, Stanford established an early lead and maintained strong offensive pressure throughout the first half. Ten different players contributed goals during the contest, including Ava Arceri who matched her career-high with six goals.
Aliya Polisky and Mallory Hasselbeck currently lead Stanford in scoring this season with Polisky recording a team-high of 31 goals and setting a new personal best of 19 assists as a redshirt-junior. Hasselbeck has accumulated her points through both goals and assists during what is described as her career year with the program.
Defensively, Ella Morton recorded six saves against Louisville while Rylee Bouvier led in caused turnovers for Stanford. The defense has been recognized nationally, with Kate Bellissimo earning conference honors and leading the team in both caused turnovers and ground balls this season.
Goalkeeper Lucy Pearson remains undefeated this season at 9-0 and holds one of the nation’s top goals-against averages at 7.00. Morton has started recent games for Stanford and holds a .447 save percentage along with notable performances since making her first collegiate start.
Looking ahead to their match against North Carolina, Stanford aims to continue its successful run as it approaches the end of its regular season schedule.
