Stanford University’s women’s beach volleyball team secured two 5-0 sweep wins on March 28 against Florida Atlantic University and North Florida, concluding a five-match road trip at the Texas Invitational in Austin.
The victories marked the end of Stanford’s visit to Texas, where the No. 2-ranked Cardinal collected five wins over top-20 opponents, bringing their season total to 15 ranked victories. The team’s record now stands at 21-2 for the year.
In Saturday’s first match, sophomores Charlotta Bell and Logan Tusher won in straight sets on court three. Juniors Clara Stowell and Indigo Clarke also earned a straight-set victory on court four. Senior Kelly Belardi and sophomore Avery Jackson clinched the match for Stanford after a close contest on court one. Junior Chloe Hoffman and redshirt freshman Elena Fisher overcame an initial set loss to win their match on court five, while juniors Ruby Sorra and Brooke Rockwell completed their first pair victory of the invitational on court two.
Stanford then faced North Florida for its second match of the day, sweeping all five courts in straight sets. This result extended Stanford’s winning streak to nine matches and represented its second win over North Florida this season.
Looking ahead, Stanford will return home to host UC Davis and Saint Mary’s on April 1 before traveling to Laguna Beach for the Best in the West tournament from April 3-4. There they are scheduled to play against Long Beach State, UCLA, USC, and Cal Poly.
