Three members of the Stanford Cardinal women’s volleyball team have been named to the Academic All-America teams by College Sports Communicators (CSC), according to an announcement made today. Elia Rubin earned first-team honors, while Lizzy Andrew and Jordyn Harvey were selected for the second and third teams, respectively.

Rubin becomes just the ninth athlete in program history to be recognized as a multiple-time Academic All-American. She was previously named to the second team last season. Andrew and Harvey are now the 19th and 20th student-athletes from Stanford to receive Academic All-America recognition, bringing the total number of CSC Academic All-America awards in school history to 30.

Rubin is also notable for her athletic achievements. She was named AVCA Pacific Region Player of the Year and was a semifinalist for AVCA Player of the Year. This season, she led Stanford with 3.99 points per set, recorded 0.39 aces per set (fourth in conference), and averaged 3.33 kills per set along with 13 double-doubles. Rubin has achieved over 1,000 career kills and digs—a milestone reached by only 11 players in school history—and set a school record for aces in the rally-scoring era at 151.

Andrew had a strong season as well, ranking second in the ACC with a .447 attack percentage—fifth nationally—and finishing second on her team with both 298 kills and 141 total blocks. She maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.83 and became just the 14th player at Stanford to earn both athletic (first, second or third team) and academic All-America honors during their time at the university.

Harvey, majoring in International Relations with a cumulative GPA of 3.67, contributed significantly on court as well, averaging 3.14 points per set—the third highest on her team—and registering five double-doubles during the season.

To qualify for Academic All-America consideration from CSC, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be sophomores or above academically, and serve as starters or significant contributors on their teams.
