Five current and former athletes from Stanford Cardinal Women’s Swimming & Diving participated in the 2025 World Aquatics Championships held in Singapore, earning a total of 12 medals over eight days of competition.
Stanford senior Torri Huske, along with alumni Katie Ledecky and Simone Manuel, each secured four medals while competing for Team USA. Their performances contributed to the United States finishing first on the medal table at the championships.
Huske played a key role by anchoring two relays that set new world records. She won gold in both the Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay (3:18.48) and the Women’s 4×100 Medley Relay (3:49.34). Huske also teamed up with Manuel to win silver in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay and earned an individual bronze medal in the 100m Freestyle with a time of 52.89 seconds.
Ledecky increased her career World Championship medal count to 30 during this meet. She maintained her undefeated record in the 1500-meter freestyle (15:26.44), claimed her seventh world title in the 800-meter freestyle (8:05.62), added a silver medal as part of the 4x200m Freestyle Relay team, and took bronze in the 400-meter freestyle.
Manuel contributed to Team USA’s results by helping secure medals in three relay events: the 4x200m Freestyle Relay, Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay, and Women’s 4×100 Medley Relay. In addition to her silver medal performance in the finals of the 4x100m Freestyle Relay, she posted leading times during morning preliminary sessions for all three relays she swam.
Caroline Bricker reached her first career World Championship final, finishing sixth overall in her only event—the women’s 200-meter butterfly—with a time of 2:07.59. Levenia Sim represented Singapore as host nation competitor, participating in three events: the women’s 50-meter backstroke, women’s 100-meter backstroke, and as part of Singapore’s team for the Women’s 4×100 Medley Relay.
The achievements highlight ongoing contributions from Stanford-affiliated swimmers at major international competitions.
