Ten gymnasts from Stanford University will compete at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, which begin August 7 and run through August 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event will determine national champions and select members for the 2025 U.S. Senior National Team and the roster for the 2025 Senior World Championship.
The men’s competition starts Thursday at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, with a second session scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Cumulative scores from both days will decide the national champions.
Asher Hong and Brody Malone lead the group of Stanford athletes competing in New Orleans. Both played key roles in helping Team USA secure its first Olympic team medal in sixteen years by earning bronze at last summer’s Paris Olympics.
“The two gymnasts have combined to win the previous four U.S. all-around titles, as Hong captured the all-around crown in 2023, while Malone boasts three national titles from 2021, 2022, and 2024,” according to Stanford Athletics.
Other Cardinal representatives include recent graduates Taylor Burkhart and Colt Walker, along with current student-athletes Kiran Mandava, David Shamah, and Kai Uemura.
Incoming freshmen Junnosuke Iwai, Joey Nieves, and Michael Sheiner are also set to participate in the Senior Men’s field at this year’s championships.
Fans can watch live coverage of the championships on NBC Sports and Peacock throughout the four-day event in New Orleans.
