After his collegiate debut in a double dual meet against No. 4 California and No. 3 Arizona State, Stanford freshman Gunnar Grubbs was named ACC Co-Diver of the Week on Tuesday.
Grubbs is the second diver from Stanford to receive a weekly honor from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), following Jack Ryan, who won the award twice during Stanford’s first season in the conference. Overall, Grubbs is the fifth Stanford athlete to earn a weekly ACC award and the first to do so in the 2025-26 season.
In his debut for Stanford on October 24, Grubbs competed against strong opponents and secured first place in 3-meter diving with a score of 382.85. This result not only led the field by a wide margin but also met an NCAA qualifying standard. In addition, he finished fourth in the 1-meter event, just behind teammate Misha Andriyuk.
Stanford will return to Berkeley on Friday, November 7, for a triple distance meet with California starting at 1 p.m.
