Stanford University’s women’s basketball team will face Duke University on Sunday, January 11 at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN with Courtney Lyle and Stephanie White providing commentary. Radio coverage will be available through GoStanford.com, the Stanford Athletics app, and Learfield’s Varsity Network with Tim Swartz.

As of January 8, Stanford holds a No. 33 ranking in the NET rankings and has played what is considered the 30th-toughest schedule in the country. Alongside Louisville and Syracuse, Stanford is one of three ACC teams to have multiple nonconference wins against Power 4 opponents. The Cardinal ranks 11th nationally in free throw percentage at .786.

Across its 17 games this season, Stanford players have achieved double-digit scoring efforts 60 times, including seven games where a player scored at least 20 points. Nunu Agara leads the team in scoring and is second in rebounds; she is among seven Power 4 players averaging at least 15.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Freshman Lara Somfai averages 10.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, making her one of only three freshmen nationwide to reach those numbers. Her five double-doubles are the most by a Stanford freshman since Kaylee Johnson’s performance during the 2014-15 season.

Chloe Clardy stands out as one of just two players nationally to average at least 11.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 steals while coming off the bench.

Courtney Ogden has averaged 15.7 points on nearly fifty-six percent shooting over her last seven games while also contributing in rebounds, assists, and steals.

Stanford’s roster features only one transfer player—the fewest among all Power Four programs—and includes four coaches who are WNBA veterans.

In their history against Duke, Stanford holds a slight edge with four wins to Duke’s three and remains undefeated (2-0) when hosting at Maples Pavilion. Last season Duke defeated Stanford in Durham by a score of 74-49, despite Nunu Agara recording a double-double with fifteen points and ten rebounds for Stanford.

During Duke’s previous visit to Maples Pavilion on November 19, Cameron Brink led Stanford with a career-high twenty-nine points for an overtime win (82-79). In another home meeting from December of 2009, Kayla Pedersen contributed twenty-two points as Stanford secured victory over Duke (71-55).

The coaching staff for this season includes more WNBA veterans than any other program nationwide.
