Four members of the Stanford women’s golf team have been named to the 2025-26 ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List, highlighting the program’s continued prominence as the new season approaches.
Meja Örtengren and Andrea Revuelta, both finalists for last year’s ANNIKA Award, return to the list. They are joined by Megha Ganne and Paula Martín Sampedro, who are also considered early contenders for this year’s honor.
Örtengren was recognized as ACC and WGCA Freshman of the Year after finishing in the top ten at all nine tournaments she played. She posted a scoring average of 70.11, which ranks fourth-best in Stanford history, and tied the school’s single-round record with a 10-under 62 at the San Diego State Classic.
Revuelta made an impact late in her freshman year following an injury. She became ACC champion by tying the championship scoring record at 14-under par and won the NCAA Norman Regional. Her summer performances elevated her to No. 3 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Ganne climbed into the top five of those rankings after winning the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur over the summer. During her time at Stanford, she set a program record for career scoring average (71.29) and earned two career tournament wins.
Martín Sampedro had notable success during her summer competition, winning both the 122nd Women’s Amateur and European Ladies’ Amateur titles, along with earning a top ten finish at the AIG Women’s Open. As a sophomore, she won her first two collegiate tournaments and has twice finished in the top five at NCAA Championship stroke play rounds. She is currently ranked No. 2 in the world among amateur golfers.
The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel was established in 2014 to recognize the top female Division I collegiate golfer each year through votes from players, coaches, and college golf media members. The award is named after Annika Sorenstam and is administered in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to mirror recognition given to male golfers through the Haskins Award.
Stifel serves as presenting sponsor for both awards as well as for NCAA Division I Women’s and Men’s Golf Championships coverage on GOLF Channel.
