Stanford men’s basketball is set to participate in the Acrisure Invitational at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California. The event will take place from November 27-28, with Stanford opening against Minnesota on Thanksgiving Day at 6:30 p.m. Depending on the outcome, they will face either Santa Clara or Saint Louis on Friday.
Historically, Stanford has a 1-5 record against Minnesota, with their last meeting occurring during the 2012 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The Cardinal secured their sole victory over Minnesota in the championship game of the 2012 Postseason NIT in New York City. The series dates back to the 1949-50 season.
Stanford holds a 52-28 record against Santa Clara and a perfect 2-0 record against Saint Louis. Their most recent encounter with Santa Clara featured a last-second game-winner by Jaylen Blakes last season. The last matchup with Saint Louis took place in New York City in 1973.
The Acrisure Series will be covered extensively on national television, featuring broadcasts on TNT and CBS. TruTV will air all games on Friday, while CBS Sports Network will cover a total of 11 games, including Tuesday’s final matchups and comprehensive coverage throughout Wednesday and Thursday.
Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, July 25 at 10 a.m. PT through Ticketmaster.com and at the Ticketmaster Box Office at Acrisure Arena. Admission grants access to all games held that day.
The Cardinal concluded the previous season under Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men’s Basketball Kyle Smith with a record of 21-14, marking their highest win total since the 2014-15 season and tying a program record with 17 victories at Maples Pavilion.
