Stanford lost to Pepperdine on April 11 in a men’s volleyball match at Firestone Fieldhouse. The Cardinal, ranked No. 14, dropped the contest in four sets (17-25, 25-23, 19-25, 21-25) against the No. 5 Waves.
The result leaves Stanford with a record of nine wins and fourteen losses overall and an even six wins and six losses in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). Pepperdine improved to twenty wins and five losses overall, with an eleven-and-one mark in conference play.
Moses Wagner led Stanford with thirteen kills on .214 hitting. He also contributed four digs, two blocks, and two assists. Middle blocker Luke McFall added eight kills along with four blocks and two aces for the Cardinal.
Freshman setter Jacob Little-Phillips returned to the starting lineup for Stanford, recording thirty-three assists as well as five digs and a kill. Libero Evan Porter collected eight digs during the match. Outside hitters David Wolff and Alex Rottman combined for thirteen kills, nine digs, three blocks, and one ace.
Pepperdine’s Cole Hartke posted a match-high nineteen kills on .429 hitting along with five digs, two aces, and one block. Jose Gomez added ten kills for Pepperdine as well as seven digs and four aces.
Stanford will conclude its five-match road trip at Menlo College on Friday before returning home to Maples Pavilion for Senior Night against Menlo College on Saturday.
