Stanford University’s men’s tennis team ended its season on May 9 after a 4-0 defeat against Texas Christian University in the NCAA Super Regionals at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The match marked the conclusion of Stanford’s campaign, finishing with a 19-9 overall record. The team reached the Super Regional round for the fifth straight year and competed in its third consecutive postseason match in Texas.
TCU secured the doubles point by winning matches on the top two courts, setting an early advantage. In singles play, TCU maintained momentum by taking first set wins across all six courts. Although Samir Banerjee and Nico Godsick held initial leads for Stanford, both eventually lost their opening sets as TCU took control of the contest.
With this result, Stanford now holds a 4-11 all-time record against TCU. The Horned Frogs clinched singles victories on courts two, four, and five to seal their win.
Stanford participated in the NCAA Tournament for its eighteenth consecutive season and forty-sixth time overall. The Cardinal has an all-time tournament record of 123 wins and 30 losses, including seventeen national championships.
Looking ahead, Stanford will seek to build on its strong history when it returns next season.
