Stanford University’s men’s basketball team will travel to Miami for its second road game in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play. The matchup is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 26, with tipoff set for 6 p.m. Pacific Time (9 p.m. Eastern Time), and will be broadcast on ACC Network.
The Cardinal enters the contest with a 14-6 record, mirroring last season’s start. The team has secured four quadrant one NET victories so far this year, including conference wins against ranked opponents North Carolina, Louisville, and Virginia Tech.
Freshman Ebuka Okorie has emerged as a standout player nationally, averaging 21.7 points per game. He ranks third among freshmen in scoring and was recognized in the top-10 national freshman of the year rankings by ESPN, Bleacher Report, Field of 68, and Hoops HQ. Okorie is joined by Duke’s Cameron Boozer and BYU’s AJ Dybantsa as the only qualified freshmen averaging more than 21 points per game.
Earlier this season, Stanford claimed victory at the Acrisure Invitational in Palm Desert with wins over Minnesota and Saint Louis. Benny Gealer made a buzzer-beater on Nov. 28 to secure the title for Stanford.
The Cardinal holds a 5-1 record away from home this season after splitting their first ACC road trip. In neutral site games, Stanford is undefeated with victories over Minnesota, Saint Louis, and Colorado. On the road, they have defeated Virginia Tech and San Jose State while suffering one loss.
Ebuka Okorie scored over 30 points in both the Colorado (32) and Virginia Tech (31) wins, delivering a last-second shot against Virginia Tech. Benny Gealer earned MVP honors at the Acrisure Invitational following his performance in those contests.
Maxime Raynaud graduated from Stanford in 2025 after a strong collegiate career before being drafted by the Sacramento Kings in June. Raynaud is now averaging 9.5 points per game in his rookie NBA season—improving to 11 points when starting—while Spencer Jones has started most of his appearances for the Denver Nuggets this year.
The upcoming game against Miami marks the sixth meeting between these programs and their second as ACC rivals. Last season, Stanford defeated Miami by its largest margin yet: an 88-51 win at home led by Maxime Raynaud’s double-double performance of 28 points and 12 rebounds; Ryan Agarwal and Chisom Okpara also contributed double-digit scoring efforts.
Graduate student guard Jeremy Dent-Smith has increased his production during ACC play recently, scoring at least 18 points in each of his last three games—including two consecutive outings with a season-high of 20 points. Dent-Smith has been effective from long range as well: he made six three-pointers against North Carolina—the second-most by any player in league action this season—and is shooting nearly 39 percent from behind the arc during conference games.
Stanford looks to continue its success on the road as it faces Miami on Wednesday night.
