Stanford men’s basketball lost to Florida State 88-80 at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee, concluding its road trip in Florida. The defeat moves Stanford’s season record to 14-8 overall and 3-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Ebuka Okorie led Stanford with 26 points, scoring 23 of those after halftime, and also contributed four assists. Benny Gealer added 12 points, making four three-pointers. AJ Rohosy scored 11 points while Donavin Young finished with 10. Oskar Giltay recorded nine rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and four points.

Okorie’s performance advanced him in several categories among Stanford freshmen: he is now eighth all-time in field goals made with 134, ninth on the three-pointers list with 36 (tied), second in free throws made at 131—nine short of the freshman record—and tied for tenth with 29 steals.

Stanford converted twelve three-point shots and had a significant advantage from its bench players, outscoring Florida State’s bench by fourteen points. However, Florida State capitalized on turnovers and had more success at the free throw line.

The Cardinal led early but fell behind after a first-half run by Florida State that put the Seminoles up by eight at halftime. The deficit grew to as much as nineteen before Okorie sparked a late comeback attempt that brought Stanford within single digits late in the game. Jaylen Thompson’s fastbreak layup reduced the gap further but was not enough as time expired.

This victory marks Florida State’s first win over Stanford in their series history.

Stanford will return home to face Clemson on February 4 at Maples Pavilion; the game will be broadcast on ACC Network.
