Stanford men’s golf finished the second round of The Goodwin on March 27 just one shot behind the team lead, entering the final day at 11-under par and tied for third place.
The close margin sets up a competitive final round as Stanford aims to contend for the team title. Strong performances from several players have kept the Cardinal in contention.
Dean Greyserman led Stanford with a 4-under, 66—his second-lowest round of the season. After an opening-round score of 1-over, Greyserman surged on the back nine with four birdies and added two more on the front, ending his day at 4-under and tying for 13th overall at 3-under par.
Jay Leng also contributed significantly, finishing even-par for Friday’s round. Leng made four birdies during his round and sits tied for seventh at 5-under overall. Freshman Edan Cui rallied late in his round with an eagle and two birdies to finish at 1-over for the day; he is tied for 60th place heading into Saturday’s play.
Nathan Wang recorded three birdies and is currently in a tie for 22nd place at 1-under par. Ethan Gao made two birdies to end even-par through two rounds, holding down a spot in a tie for 28th. Individually competing players TK Chantananuwat, Kush Arora, and Cooper Stearns each contributed solid rounds as well.
Stanford will return to action on Saturday, March 28, with tee times beginning at hole one starting from eight o’clock in the morning.
