Asher Hong secured his second national all-around title at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships in New Orleans, achieving a two-day score of 170.020. His victory margin of 7.465 points is the largest ever recorded at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships for both men’s and women’s competitions.

With this win, Stanford gymnasts have claimed each of the last five U.S. all-around titles: Hong in 2023 and 2025, and Brody Malone in 2021, 2022, and 2024.

Hong also earned individual national titles on floor exercise (30.016), still rings (29.286), and vault (30.318). He was runner-up on parallel bars. His vault performance secured him a spot on the World Team by meeting the event title and minimum difficulty requirement.

Brody Malone finished among the top five in each of his four events, winning the parallel bars crown with a score of 28.150. He placed second on still rings (28.566), third on pommel horse (28.202), and fifth on high bar (27.501).

Stanford graduate Taylor Burkhart led the field on high bar with a score of 28.960, contributing to Stanford’s total of five out of six event titles at the championships. Burkhart also finished fourth on parallel bars with a score of 27.900.

Colt Walker placed fourth overall in the all-around competition with a score of 161.560 and ranked in the top ten for high bar (27.150), parallel bars (27.410), and vault (27.800). Incoming freshman Junnosuke Iwai finished sixth in the all-around with a score of 160.613, highlighted by a third-place result on floor exercise with a score of 28.863.

Following these results, Hong and Malone were named to Team USA’s World Championships roster, while Taylor Burkhart was selected as the non-traveling replacement athlete.

Six members from Stanford were selected for National Team duties: Hong, Malone, Burkhart, Iwai, Walker, and Riley Loos will represent Team USA through the upcoming Winter Cup.

The next major international event for these athletes will be the FIG World Gymnastics Championships scheduled for October 19-25 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
