Chisom Okpara, the second-leading scorer for Stanford Cardinal men’s basketball, will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season due to a lower extremity injury, according to an announcement from the program.
Okpara has averaged 13.9 points per game over 17 games this season. He is among the top-25 scorers in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and contributes 3.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. As of January 17, he ranked sixth in the ACC for made free throws and was among the top-40 nationally in fouls drawn per 40 minutes.
Stanford currently holds a 14-5 overall record and a 3-3 mark in ACC play after three weeks of conference competition. The team has recorded two victories against ranked opponents this season. Nationally, Stanford is one of only 18 programs with at least four NET quadrant one wins so far this year; within the ACC, only Duke and Virginia have matched that achievement.
“Okpara ranks in the top-25 in the ACC in scoring at 13.9 points per game, to go along with 3.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Through games on Jan. 17, Okpara ranks sixth in the ACC in made free throws and a top-40 rank nationally in fouls drawn per 40 minutes.”
Stanford continues its ACC schedule as it adapts to playing without Okpara for the remainder of the season.
