The Stanford Cardinal women’s squash team narrowly lost to the University of Pennsylvania in the semifinals of the College Squash Association (CSA) National Championships. The match, held in Philadelphia, ended with a 5-4 victory for Penn. This was only Stanford’s second appearance in the semifinal round of the Howe Cup.
Stanford’s Madison Ho secured the team’s first win by taking her match on court six in straight sets. Teammates Riya Shankaran, Tiana Parasrampuria, and Valerie Huang also earned victories on courts five, seven, and nine. Parasrampuria and Huang both maintained their undefeated records for the season with these wins.
Following this result, Stanford will compete against Harvard for third place. The match is scheduled for tomorrow at noon Pacific Time. Stanford has previously finished in the top four of the Howe Cup only once before, placing third in 2019.
