Stanford women’s gymnastics has earned the No. 7 overall seed for the 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship Tournament, according to a March 23 announcement by the NCAA on ESPNU. The Cardinal will begin their postseason in the second round of the NCAA Regional Championships, facing Michigan, North Carolina, and Utah State on April 2 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time.
This marks Stanford’s best overall seeding since the 2011 season and continues a strong run that saw them ranked as a top-10 team throughout most of the regular season. The Cardinal will be competing as the No. 2 seed in the Baton Rouge (LSU) Regional alongside teams including LSU, Michigan, Clemson, Auburn, North Carolina, Utah State, Air Force, and Nebraska.
The championship format includes regional competitions with nine teams at each of four sites; only two from each site will advance to Fort Worth for nationals scheduled April 16-18. Individual gymnasts not on advancing teams can also qualify for national competition based on their performances.
Stanford’s season included several milestones: it was their first Atlantic Coast Conference Regular-Season Championship with an undefeated record in conference play (6-0), their first score above 198 since 2004, and senior Anna Roberts received eight ACC Gymnast of the Week honors—setting a program record. Roberts also became an AAI Award Finalist and achieved top-18 national rankings on all four events while ranking fifth nationally in all-around with an NQS of 39.630.
Roberts made further history by becoming just the second Stanford gymnast ever to earn two perfect scores in one meet—a feat last accomplished over twenty years ago—and set a new program all-around record at Oregon State with a score of 39.875 this season.
The regional championships meet is scheduled to start at Pete Maravich Assembly Center at noon Central/11 a.m. Pacific and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
