Stanford seniors Lucy Bell and Torri Huske were named on Mar. 30 as two of the four finalists for the Honda Sport Award for Women’s Swimming, according to Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards.

The Honda Sport Award recognizes top female athletes in collegiate sports, and being named a finalist highlights the achievements of both Bell and Huske during their collegiate careers. The other finalists are Claire Curzan from Virginia and Sophie Verzyl from South Carolina. Finalists were chosen by a panel from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America, with voting conducted by senior women administrators representing more than 1,000 NCAA member institutions.

Bell is a three-time NCAA champion and has been recognized as an All-American fifteen times. She won national titles in both the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley at this year’s NCAA Championships. Bell holds program records in the 200 breaststroke and as part of the 200 freestyle relay team, with “Stanford Top 10” marks in six events throughout her career.

Huske achieved national titles in all her individual events at her final NCAA Championships: the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly. Her performances set new program records in both freestyle distances, making her the second-fastest woman ever recorded in those events. Huske is now a five-time NCAA champion, one of only four athletes to earn All-American honors twenty-eight times at Stanford, and she is also a six-time Olympic medalist with three golds and three silvers.

This announcement comes as The Collegiate Women Sports Awards celebrates its fiftieth anniversary during the current collegiate athletics season. For fifty years, the Honda Sport Award has honored leading women athletes across twelve NCAA-sanctioned sports.

The winner will advance as a finalist for Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year at the Class of 2026 Honda Cup ceremony scheduled to be broadcast live on July 27 on CBS Sports Network.
