Stanford’s top-ranked beach volleyball team secured two more wins on April 4 in Laguna Beach, defeating No. 4 University of Southern California with a sweep and narrowly overcoming No. 6 Cal Poly.

The matches add to Stanford’s current momentum, pushing its unbeaten streak to 15 consecutive victories. The team now holds a season record of 27-2.

Against USC, Stanford dominated by winning all five matches, including straight-set victories on courts one through four. Brooke Rockwell and Ruby Sorra won the first point for Stanford on court two with scores of 21-15 and 21-15. Kelly Belardi and Avery Jackson followed up with a win on court one against Ashley Pater and Kennedy Coakley, posting scores of 21-17 and 21-19. Charlotta Bell and Logan Tusher clinched the dual for Stanford by defeating Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe on court three, while Indigo Clarke and Clara Stowell added another straight-set win on court four. Elena Fisher and Chloe Hoffman completed the sweep after a close three-set match on court five.

In their matchup against Cal Poly, Stanford faced stiffer competition as the contest came down to an extra point in the third set for the deciding match win. After taking early leads with wins on courts four and five, Stanford saw Cal Poly respond with three-set victories on courts one and two. Ultimately, Bell and Tusher secured the final point for Stanford in an extended third set.

Stanford is scheduled to continue its regular season at the Center of Effort Challenge in San Luis Obispo from April 10 to April 11, where it will face opponents including USC again as well as Texas Christian University (TCU) and Loyola Marymount University (LMU).

The Cardinal’s recent performance underscores its strong position heading into upcoming competitions.
