Ten former Stanford University athletes will be inducted into the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame on September 26, with public recognition scheduled for the following day during the football game against San Jose State. The Class of 2025 includes Sarah Beeson Andersen (softball), Erin Burdette (women’s tennis), David DeCastro (football), Ryan Garko (baseball), Dan Gill (men’s gymnastics), Kiley Neushul (women’s water polo), Kelley O’Hara (women’s soccer), Jeanette Pohlen (women’s basketball), Chasson Randle (men’s basketball), and Tank Williams (football).

Student-athletes become eligible for induction ten years after their final season. This year, Kiley Neushul and Chasson Randle are first-ballot selections. The selection process focuses on athletic achievement at Stanford, academic success, professional honors, character, representation of the university, and contributions to sport and society. Inductees must attend the ceremony in person.

All ten inductees have been named All-Americans, collecting a total of 30 honors among them. Two were members of NCAA championship teams; two won individual NCAA titles. Five were recognized as national players of the year in their respective sports; six led teams to conference championships; five earned conference player of the year awards; three received CSC Academic All-American recognition; and two won Olympic medals.

The Hall of Fame was established by Walt Gamage in 1954 and will include 490 individuals after this year’s class.

Sarah Beeson Andersen is being recognized as the fifth softball inductee. She led her team to four NCAA appearances and set several school records while earning multiple academic honors.

Erin Burdette becomes the twentieth women’s tennis inductee. She contributed to three NCAA championship teams and later returned as a volunteer assistant coach for seven seasons.

David DeCastro is noted as the hundredth football inductee. He started all his games at Stanford before a nine-year NFL career with six Pro Bowl selections.

Ryan Garko is being honored as baseball’s fiftieth inductee after leading his team to four College World Series appearances and playing six years in Major League Baseball before returning as an assistant coach.

Dan Gill is men’s gymnastics’ sixth inductee, having won a national title on vault and earning nine All-America honors during his collegiate career.

Kiley Neushul becomes women’s water polo’s seventh inductee after helping win three NCAA championships and securing an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 2016.

Kelley O’Hara is recognized as women’s soccer’s ninth Hall of Famer following a college career highlighted by major awards, participation in multiple Olympics with two medals, World Cup victories with Team USA, and eleven seasons in professional soccer.

Jeanette Pohlen joins as women’s basketball’s sixteenth member after helping lead her team to four Final Four appearances before joining the WNBA and later returning to Stanford as an assistant coach.

Chasson Randle becomes men’s basketball’s forty-fourth Hall member thanks to record-setting performances at Stanford followed by a professional career that included NBA play and international championships.

Tank Williams rounds out this year’s class as football’s one-hundred-first inductee. He was a standout defensive back at Stanford who went on to play seven seasons in the NFL before returning to campus in a coaching role.
