Stanford University recently celebrated the achievements of three standout athletes who were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women’s At-Large teams. Luise Bachmann from women’s rowing, Arianna Cao from fencing, and Ryann Neushul from women’s water polo received this prestigious recognition.
Arianna Cao and Ryann Neushul were both selected for the first team, while Luise Bachmann secured a spot on the second team. This accomplishment brings Stanford’s total CSC Academic All-America selections for the 2024-25 academic year to 20, with further announcements regarding men’s honorees expected soon.
Luise Bachmann concluded her collegiate career by leading Stanford to its second NCAA team championship in three years. As part of Stanford’s varsity eight boat, she contributed to an undefeated regular season and multiple victories over top-ranked teams. Originally from Ingelheim, Germany, Bachmann graduated with a degree in human biology and plans to pursue a Master’s degree in biology at Stanford.
Arianna Cao achieved significant success by winning an NCAA Championship in women’s foil fencing. She emerged victorious after a challenging competition that included defeating two-time Olympian Jessica Guo in overtime. A native of San Jose, California, Cao has earned numerous accolades during her time at Stanford.
Ryann Neushul made history as Stanford’s first four-time NCAA champion in women’s water polo. Her remarkable seven-year career was capped off with being named the ACWPC Player of the Year and receiving the Peter J. Cutino Award as the nation’s most outstanding collegiate player. Hailing from Goleta, California, Neushul left a lasting legacy at Stanford with her impressive performance statistics.
These athletes exemplify excellence both academically and athletically, contributing significantly to their respective sports and representing Stanford University with distinction.
