Stanford University’s women’s swimming and diving team has announced the addition of Olympic bronze medalist Annie Lazor to its coaching staff. Lazor will serve as the program’s associate head coach, according to Chris Lindauer, the Paul A. Violich Director of Women’s Swimming.
Lazor, who recently served as an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2025 World University Games in Germany, expressed her enthusiasm about joining Stanford. “I’m incredibly honored and grateful to join the Stanford family and this incredible group of women,” she said. She thanked Chris Lindauer, Richard Zhu, and the Stanford administration for their trust and support.
Before joining Stanford, Lazor spent two seasons at Florida as an assistant coach. During her tenure there, she helped guide student-athletes to numerous accolades including 65 All-America honors and 18 SEC championships. The Florida team also achieved a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 2024 under her guidance.
Chris Lindauer praised Lazor’s passion for swimming and highlighted her potential impact on student-athletes. “Annie’s passion and love for our sport is energizing and will immediately impact our student-athletes,” he stated.
Lazor’s professional swimming career includes a bronze medal in the 200-meter breaststroke at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She also won three gold medals at the 2019 Pan American Championships and a world title in 2018.
A native of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Lazor graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Communications in 2016. Her hiring is subject to a background check.
