Santa Clara University’s women’s tennis program has signed Sofia de Looze, a four-star recruit from Kirkland, Washington. De Looze is ranked No. 34 nationally in the Girls U-18s and currently attends Juanita High School.
During her junior tennis career, de Looze has won two Level 3 USTA Tournaments and was a finalist twice in Level 2 Doubles events. She also reached the quarterfinals at the Winter Nationals Level 1 tournament in Florida. In addition to tennis, she competed as a swimmer for five years.
“When I visited Santa Clara University, I was immediately impressed by the beautiful campus and the positive, welcoming atmosphere,” said de Looze. “The more I learned about the school, the more I loved how it combines strong academics and a great tennis program, making it the perfect fit for me.”
Broncos head coach Allie Will-Van Alstyne commented on de Looze’s signing: “We’re thrilled to welcome Sofia to our Bronco Family. Sofia embodies the competitive spirit we value at Santa Clara—she battles for every point and brings tremendous passion to everything she does. We know she’ll excel both on and off the court, and we can’t wait to get started. Go Broncos!”
