Santa Clara University’s women’s basketball team will participate in the American Savings Bank Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Hawaii from Friday to Sunday. The Broncos are scheduled to play Lindenwood on Friday at 2 p.m. Pacific, Vermont on Saturday at 2 p.m. Pacific, and Hawaii on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Pacific.
The team currently averages 79.6 points per game, shooting 41.4 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from three-point range, and 67.4 percent from the free throw line.
Santa Clara also records an average of 43.7 rebounds, 17.7 assists, 8.9 steals, and 7.6 blocks per game while committing an average of 11.7 turnovers per game. The Broncos hold a turnover margin of +4.4 and have a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
On defense, Santa Clara allows opponents to score an average of 61.4 points per game while holding them to a shooting percentage of 36.3 percent overall and forcing an average of 16.1 turnovers per game.
Maia Jones leads the Broncos with an average of 15.1 points per game and has made a team-high total of nineteen three-pointers this season so far. Sophie Glancey is contributing with an average of 13.4 points on nearly forty-seven percent shooting as well as averaging seven point four rebounds and leading the team with three point three blocks per game. Ashley Hawkins adds eleven point seven points along with a team-best five point six assists and four point six rebounds each contest; Ava Schmidt matches Hawkins’ scoring output while making fifteen three-pointers and averaging five rebounds per game.
