The Santa Clara softball team has released its 2026 schedule, which will feature 52 games and include matchups against nine teams that participated in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The schedule includes rematches with Grand Canyon and Arizona from last season’s Tucson Regionals, as well as a game against Texas, the defending national champions.
Santa Clara recently completed a notable 2025 season, making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament and setting a school record with 32 wins. The team also achieved 11 victories in West Coast Conference (WCC) play out of 15 games. Key players returning for the upcoming season include conference Player of the Year Cairah Curran, Defensive Player of the Year Taryn Clements, Pitcher and Freshman of the Year Cari Ferguson, first-team selection Hazyl Gray (the WCC Player of the Year two seasons ago), second-team selection Rebecca Rubio, and honorable mention Kyla Acres.
Season tickets for home games are now available. According to the announcement: “Season Tickets to the 2026 home games are available now. The season begins at the Grand Canyon Kickoff Classic from February 6 to February 8 in Phoenix. This tournament features Weber State and Grand Canyon—both qualifiers for last year’s NCAA Tournament—as well as Southern Utah.
The following week brings Santa Clara’s home opener during the Silicon Valley Classic (February 12–15), where they will face Illinois State and three other NCAA Tournament teams: Cal, UC Santa Barbara, and Washington. Nine games are scheduled at Santa Clara Softball Stadium during this event; Santa Clara will play in six.
A midweek home game against UC Davis is set for February 17 before participation in the DeMarini Invitational Tournament hosted by Stanford from February 20 to February 22. Other teams competing include Texas, Arizona, and Boise State.
The schedule continues with a doubleheader at Cal Poly on February 24 and concludes tournament play with the Capital City Classic (February 27 – March 1), co-hosted by Sacramento State and UC Davis.
Nonconference action wraps up with doubleheaders against San Jose State (March 7) and Fresno State (March 8), along with three-game series versus Montana (March 14–15) and Portland State (March 22–23).
Santa Clara starts its defense of the WCC title on March 27–29 on the road against LMU as part of an expanded league slate that now includes Seattle U among seven conference members. Each school will play six three-game series.
April features consecutive home series versus Oregon State (April 2–4) and San Diego (April10–12), followed by away games at Pacific (April17–19). After a bye weekend, Santa Clara travels north to face Seattle U from May1–3.
Additional nonconference games are scheduled within league play: Florida State visits April8 while Stanford returns April22; both contests take place at Santa Clara’s home field.
The regular season ends with a home series against Saint Mary’s from May7–9; Senior Day is set for May9.
